in honor of leah's great determination and will power
(and the fact that i am so totally hormone ridden, i'd eat sugar out of the bag with a SPOON.
yeah...all together now...EWWWWWWWW!)

i am polishing off a WHOLE FREAKING pint of B&J's peanut butter cup ice cream as we speak.

that is all.

back to your regularly scheduled blogging, while i crash on the couch and wonder if i should let myself hurl.

Didn't taste like ice cream...

Yo! So I was in Albany today on a lunch stop and we stopped at a mall. I head to the food court and eat whatever fast chinese food crap they have. Then I see it. The Hagen Das stand. I meander over and look. Belgian Chocolate Chocolate. I look at the sizes and the possibilities: sundae? cone? what kind of cone?

Then I remembered that I'd eaten like two danishes that day, and that being on this tour doesn't always allow for the best nutritional choices, and I feel like I've put on 10 lbs already. So I walked away from the Hagen Das. Yep. Walked away.

Sigh.

Went to Applebees with John, he had 1/2 blackened chicken salad and I had sizzlin' apple pie ala-mode...didn't think anyone could ruin dessert...Well, it wasn't sizzlin' and it just didn't taste right luke warm. The ice cream was good though. I don't think they made that part. Hmm, I think that someone owes me an apple pie...can't remember who...lol

Ever the saavy (or, if you prefer, cheap) shopper, I used my coupon for $1 off Edy's Dreamery ice cream last week and scored two pints for $2.99. I am happily gorging myself on some kind of Strawberry Cheesecake one and also a Toffee Caramel one. I still like B&J's better but this shit ain't too shabby. As long as there is fun stuff in the ice cream I'm happy. Plus it beats the vanilla shakes from McDonald's I've been having...

Anyhow, I think we are getting near to due for another social. Maybe Abbott's this time now that it's nicer weather? Leah likes to plan that crap because she has that power hungry thing goin' on, so when she gets back we need to get on her case to plan something.
I posted my kitty cat at that Leah Chicks Yahoo page, her name is Petie and she absolutely LOVES trout flavored ice cream...Check it out!

...actually, she prefers vanilla.

Hello Ladies...I spoke to that Leah Chick on Sunday and she asked to pass a hello along. So Hello..also I was asked to say and I quote "tell the goils the last thing I did before leaving Rochester, was to have an Abbot's Ice cream cone."

On a side note Jessica and I went to Friendly's. We had actual food before Ice cream and it was good, and so was the food..:-P

took the rugrats to Bob Evans for lunch today (half day cause of the holiday...) they insisted that was where we needed to go cause their aunt works there and they wanted jessa to wait on them LOL. the only other reason they like to go there is because they serve and ice cream sundae that looks like a smiley face. vanilla ice cream, choclate syrup, mini reese's peanut butter cups and a cherry. woo hoo. yummy stuff off the kiddie menu for 99cents. go mom. you da woman! haha

Butter Pecan Boston, 1:30 PM. 1/8 cup pecans, 1/8 cup caramel, butter pecan ice cream, milk, mix, pour into large cup, add soft ice cream.

Okay so here's the deal. I was really bored at work Friday night. I work at a little strange shop at ghetto mall. Just as I look up these guys are walking by with DQ blizzards. I turn to the guy I'm working with and do the stupid mannerisms and sounds that they do in the commercial and he looks at me like I'm Crazy...As if he didn't already know that. Any who I digress...So I told him I'd be back and ran off and got a dipped ice-cream cone that was soooooo good and then I told him my Atlanta Story. There's a DQ on the way to and from the hotel so I always stop in If I go by that thing 4 times I beg everyone to stop while I go in and sometimes they even get something..:-) I LOVE my vacation..:-D (even if it isn't till August. )

Yesterday I went to the only open ice cream stand in town, Darilicious. The other one, called the Big Dipper was sold to a rib joint. Anyway, I got a chocolate, banana Boston. The lady handed it to me and I am like, this isn't a Boston, it's a shake, sure enough she forgot to put the extra ice cream in. I requested a cherry on top thinking that it was standard practise and she said that will be 10 more cents, so I hand her a dime and she then says 11 cents. I am like make up your mind, you screwed up to begin with throw in the damn cherry!!!! Well, after woofing down a texas cheese dog I slurped up the old Boston and forgot all about the ice cream stand window mishap...

PS where is Abbotts??????
IS ABBOTT'S OPENED YET??????????????????

Goils, when I get back, it's going to be a Chocolate Almond Frozen Custard glutton marathon!

Miss you!

Ah-ha! I'm in Buffalo at the moment, and tonight we had the great idea to go get ice cream at 8:00 at night in our pajamas... so we did! :-D It was great -- I had a brownie sundae (no whipped cream! *g*), Amanda had a banana split, and Justin had vanilla with Reese's Pieces. Ah.... I can't wait until I can go get ice cream without shivering while eating it!!

What happened to the comments? Is anyone else having trouble gettting connected to that? Is the web site down or something? Anyway, glad to hear things are heating up there in NY state. Good for you guys. Even though it's beautiful here in CO I miss everyone back home, whaaaa! Call the whambulence... Well, no ice cream to report today sad to say, not enough $$ to buy it! The jobs I have are taking care of this woman who is 80 on the weekends and doing massage 2x per week at the local grocery store. The woman keeps cancelling her shifts on the weekends (2x now!- Which means a lot less mulah for me! EEK!) and it's so nice out that people are outside having ice cream not inside grocery shopping, and certainly not staying still long enough to get a massage!!! OY! This is an ice cream crisis!
45 degrees is good enough for me!

Considering the weather Rochester has been having lately, I was a bit sick of seeing ice, so imagine my relief when I went outside and it was a whopping 45 degrees out today!! Naturally, I'll be eating ice cream to celebrate the breaking of Rochester's far-too-long winter season. And it'll be Edy's French Vanilla Fudge Pie -- one of their new flavors.
:-D

Ok, so just wanted to tell ya'll that I tried yet another new kind of ice cream for the team. This time is was a rice dream "rice sandwich," mint flavored. THIS IS TERRIBLE!!! WE HATE IT! Let me tell ya how I really feel. Anyways, I was at school and totally stressed out (yikes! only 1 month left and LOTS of papers to write!) so I decided to go to the bookstore to get ice cream in between my classes. This was not the treat that I so lusted after. It was all grainy and blah! It was covered in chocolate which saved it a little so that I didn't immediately spit it out. Let's just say I didn't get my fix! Darn it!

My Ice Cream Is Melting!!

Can I just say that this sucks?? I spent the night on the couch with the dogs because big ass branches kept falling on my house and I was scared. It's not fun waking up to BOOM and your house shaking. It's even less fun to lose your power. On top of freezing because there is no heat and smacking into stuff because there are no lights, my B&J One Sweet Whirled is going to melt away in my non-working freezer. I guess I could have brought it over to my dad's house (lucky bastard has his power thank god) like I did my bird, but he has that nasty freezer smell going on and it would ruin my ice cream anyway. If we are going to have a freakin ice storm, could it at least be cold enough outside to keep my ice cream frozen?? Sheesh. I guess that will teach me to eat the whole pint at once instead of a few bites here and there to prolong my pleasure.

I hope the rest of yall in Rochester are doing OK. May your ice cream fare better than mine.

Friday, April 04, 2003

Oh and the main grocery store here called Kroger, had a sign up taking back any B&J Karamela Sutra ice cream because it contains peanuts! Well what the hey? A recall? I guess that particular ingredient was left off of the package. Is anyone here allergic to peanuts?
Oh my gosh, please don't ask for ice unless it's ice cream. I am so about summer now. It has actually been extremely warm here and I do not miss the snow. They have an ice cream shop here called the Darilicious. They are famous for cones with a cherry on top and what they call Bostons. Bostons are shakes (any and everykind imaginable) with ice cream pumped into the middle of it, topped with whip cream and of course the cherry. I did break down the other day and stopped thinking about the McDonalds Parfait and went for it. I know, it's yogurt but it's really cold! LOL
Tasted Like Ice Storm?

I swear.. I need to move back to Rochester. You guys have all the fun up there! Ice Storms.. blizzards.. hard rain.. *sighs* We just get lots of snow. Booorrrinnngg. Anyway, ice cream update: I was trying to be good Tuesday night when I was at Friendly's. I even subsituted a salad instead of getting fries. Then Matt got a free hot fudge sundae w/ his dinner. I couldn't just watch him eat ice cream alone, now could I? No! So I got a Reese's Pieces sundae. It was very yummy. I also finished off my Ben & Jerry's vanilla I had at home. And I wonder why I can't lose weight *grins*

How is everyone doing up North? Everyone come through the storm ok? Hang in there! It looks like it's going to be bad again tonight.

Cameo Appearance

Hi Goils! I'm writing from a veeeeeeeeeerrrrrrryyyyy ....... sloooooooooow......dial....up.....zzzzzz..zzz......

HUH? Oh, sorry, dozed off...

Well, it appears Lisa has blogged of our Ice Cream/Rum/Beer event, so I needn't say anymore. So, Lisa and Maria and I had a small ice cream social of our own in Buffalo. AND, what Lisa did not mention is that Katie and Charlene are not only my best friends, but our Mascot Alice's Moms. So Lisa and Maria got to worship at Alice's altar while they were there. (I mean that literally-they've got a little altar set up for her. She just died last month on March 6.)

And in non-ice cream related news, it appears my absence will be extended, as I JUST GOT CALLED TO PLAY GUITAR IN THE PIT FOR THE NATIONAL TOUR OF COPACABANA!!!!!

I'm going right from Buffalo to the tour. I'll be back May 19. All gigs are cancelled! I'll do my best to eat ice cream in many cities and report back.

Where have all the ice-cream eaters gone??????? Hmmm..Is everyone's ICF= 1? 'Cause I ain't hearing (well seeing) any Ice-cream commentary. :-( I went to Applebees..(By the by Hate it...anyhow) We had this sizzling apple pie thing they offer .. and ewww.. The saving grace was the scoop of ice cream on top. but then they put this "saucy" thing on it..Blech! In any case moral of the story I have to get ice cream some how in my system today I Ain't as Lucky as Ya'll it seems..:-)
